School renovation of Sri Aurobindo High School
Sri Aurobindo Purnanga Sikshya Kendra, run by Matru Seva Sadan in Nimapara in Puri district, is a school focused on the holistic development of children. The aim of the school is to provide underprivileged children with a high-quality education and to link education to their real life situations. The school is also attended by children from the so-called Dalit community. Even today, this unprivileged group is mostly not literate, so education is very important for the new generations to get out of poverty. Since the school was severely destroyed by the cyclone a few years ago, Mandelzweig Projekthilfe would like to support the reconstruction of the school. For this purpose, the purchase of building materials, the wages of the workers and toilet facilities including tiled floors are to be financed.

Project history
In May 2019, the state of Odisha was hit hard by Cyclone Fani. Since then, the school has only been provisionally renovated due to a lack of funds, so that at least some rooms can be taught. A team from Mandelzweig Projekthilfe visited the school at the end of 2019 and spoke out in favour of support for school reconstruction.
