About us

About us

There was an idea at the beginning of our association: Partnership groups in Germany with partner projects in the countries of the South should be connected with each other. Development work and commitment should be brought to life and felt – for everyone involved. After all, commitment to development policy is fun, and it is a key contribution to a more just and fair world.

Mandelzweig-Projekthilfe e.V. is therefore committed to ensuring that different population groups live together on an equal footing with the help of partnership groups and donors. The funding priority is currently India. The development aid organisation supports many of our partners' projects in India and maintains close contact with the local people.

Our Goals

Our goal is to be able to inspire as many committed partnership groups in Germany as possible to get involved in development policy. Almost anyone can become a partnership group: school classes, (sports) clubs, companies and works councils, but also individual donors can support the projects. Any help is welcome, and together we can achieve a lot.

Do you want to actively participate and get involved in the work of the association? We are always happy to see new faces. Take part in our fundraising campaigns, get involved in our various projects, participate in the organization of the association or become a project ambassador - there is a lot you can do to support Mandelzweig Projekthilfe e.V.

The Mandelzweig-Projekthilfe e.V. refers to the Jewish theologian Shalom Ben-Chorin, who in 1946 describes the growth of peace in his well-known poem "Friends that the Almond Branch" using an almond branch. This song was set to music by the Protestant songwriter Fritz Baldruweit.

Mandelzweig Projekthilfe – Mitglieder
Mandelzweig Project Aid – Members

Friends, that the almond branch blooms and sprouts again,
Isn't that a sign that love remains?
That life did not pass, no matter how much blood screams,
do not despise this in the gloomiest time.

Thousands are crushed by the war, a world passes.
Yet life's blossom victory blows lightly in the wind.
Friends, that the almond branch sways in blossoms,
that remains to me a hint of life's victory
